In most respects, this is an excellent kayak--very sturdy, wide, stable. It tracks well and is not as pokey as you would expect with such a big kayak. The various compartments and hatches are also well-laid out and convenient. The seat, which is included, is comfortable.
I am about 6'2', 250 lbs, so spent a lot of time reading reviews about which kayaks are best for big people, and this one sounded like the best--I agree with the others!
The one problem I have with this yak is that it is more difficult to carry than necessary given its weight. It is not a light kayak, that is clear, but the various carrying handles, etc. are basically placed in such a way that it is impossible to carry this kayak by myself, even though I'm not a small guy. My last kayak weighed a bit less but was much easier to lug around. For this one I had to invest in a kayak cart to haul it from the boathouse to the dock, which is not far.
Anyway, I would probably give this yak a 4.5 star rating if it were possible, but as is I can't give it a five star review.
