Once you have the installation media, follow the steps:

  1. Start your computer from the installation media. Insert the disk or USB stick and restart your computer. If you see a message asking you to “Press any key to boot from DVD,” do so. If you don’t see the message, you might need to change the boot order in your computer's BIOS settings so that it first starts from the disk or USB. 2. In the Windows Recovery Environment, on the Choose an option screen, click 'Troubleshoot'.
  3. Click, ‘Advanced Options’ and then click on 'Startup Settings' and select ‘Restart’.
  4. After this complete the repair and see if you are able to boot in to your computer.

My pc occasionally gets blue screen when closing down, it was happening when I had windows 7 and since upgrading to windows 10 I'm still getting it. Error I get is Driver-Power-State-Failure. After searching online I decided to update the bios, but the only update Asus have for the P6X58D-E is showing on windows 8. Any idea if this is suitable to use, it comes up with the same file when I select other. Thanks

Hi

Questions about the BIOS should be addressed to Asus. The BIOS is a hardware item supported by the computer manufacturer.

updating bios makes hardware run better and adds functions for newer hardware, so shouldn't matter about what os you have. I updated my asus bios too run the new 4.7gig 8 core cpu and I'm running windows 10 (and at the time windows 10 wasn't listed)

at worst after updating the bios, windows might fail to boot.. then just run windows repair :)

Did you even read what this issue was before telling him to go to ASUS? I am having the same problem. My PC worked fine on windows 7 and now after I 'upgraded' (What a joke) to Windows 10 everything is unstable. Microsoft kept sending me all these notifications to upgrade to Windows 10 and when I do. . . . this piece of **** OS messed up my whole system.
